At Barslund we take social responsibility seriously

As one of North Zealand’s largest employers, we at Barslund feel obligated to help create a multicultural and educated society.

We focus on educating and shaping the next generation of contractors. For that same reason, Barslund continuously emphasises hiring apprentices and taking on trainees in our company. When we bring them into the field, it helps to raise the level of the entire industry. In 2014, Barslund had apprentices and trainees in the following areas:

  • Pavers
  • Skilled construction labourers
  • Contract machinery mechanics
  • Engineering trainees
  • Surveyor trainees

In 2014, the number of apprentices and trainees accounted for 5% of our total staff.

Our goal for 2015 is to maintain this percentage.

In 2014, we had zero “cases” of discrimination at Barslund, as defined by the ILO (International Labour Organization). This is in full compliance with the company’s objectives in this area.

Hiring and termination

All decisions regarding hiring, promotion, termination, wages and other working conditions are based on relevant and objective criteria.

Child labour

Both in Denmark and abroad, Barslund is aware of and respects the ban on child labour; see the Danish Working Environment Act. All employees must be at least 15 years old.
